The IBM 00E1224 is a service processor card, recorded as a Crystal Falls FSP in a lead free build. The Flexible Service Processor is the small embedded system inside an IBM server that powers the machine up, holds its configuration and vital product data, watches power and thermal conditions and gives the management console its way in. It works independently of the main processors, so it is the part that has to be alive before anything else can start. Confirm the machine type and model before ordering.

IBM’s POWER servers have carried several names over the years, RS/6000, pSeries, iSeries, System p, System i and Power Systems, but they are maintained the same way. A drawer or frame holds processor and memory assemblies, a service processor that brings the machine up and watches over it, adapter cards in PCI or PCIe slots, and its own power and cooling. Each is a field replaceable unit identified by a feature code as well as a part number.
