The IBM 41T8480 is recorded as a WCU, the water cooling unit used in IBM’s liquid cooled frames. On these machines the processor complex is cooled by a closed water loop rather than by air alone, and the WCU is the module that circulates that internal loop and exchanges its heat with the customer’s chilled water or with the room.
