The IBM 45D2491 is a DCA-EPS Distributed Converter Assembly, a power supply unit within IBM’s Bulk Power Assembly used across Power Systems and System z frames, in the same DCA-EPS class as parts 45D4756 and 45D4182. The DCA converts the DC bus voltage supplied by the Bulk Power Assembly down to the levels the processor books, memory and I/O drawers run on. Multiple units operate in parallel across a large frame for N+1 redundancy, so a single failed converter does not take the machine down.
