The IBM 80P5530 is a 28EC (28 CEC) system backplane for the IBM RS/6000 p5-550 and IBM eServer p5/OpenPower 550 systems (9113-550, 9406-550 and OpenPower 720), the same CCIN family as the IBM 80P6700 and 80P6381 backplanes elsewhere in our range. It forms the core of the system unit, providing the sockets the processor DCM cards, memory risers and I/O connections plug into.

The p550 family remains in service in a number of established Unix/AIX, i5/OS and OpenPower Linux environments, and a genuine 28EC backplane is a significant repair for restoring a system after a backplane-level fault rather than a simple component swap. Confirm your exact system model (9113-550, 9406-550 or OpenPower 720) before ordering.
