The Juniper SRX-MP-1serial is a 1-port synchronous serial Mini-PIM (Physical Interface Module) for Juniper SRX Series Services Gateways, adding a single serial WAN interface to SRX branch and mid-range platforms fitted with Mini-PIM slots. It is used where a site still relies on a legacy serial WAN circuit, such as a leased line or frame-relay connection, alongside the SRX’s Ethernet interfaces, letting one gateway handle both without a separate serial router. The Mini-PIM form factor is field-installable and hot-swappable on supported SRX models, so a failed card can be replaced without taking the whole gateway out of service.
