The Dell GP-XFP-1L is a 10GBASE-LR XFP optical transceiver in Force10 coding, running 10 Gigabit Ethernet at 1310 nm over single-mode fibre to a rated 10 km, with a duplex LC interface and digital optical monitoring.

The GP- prefix is Force10 Networks’ own optics numbering. Force10 built the high-density 10 Gigabit switching used in datacentres and internet exchanges through the 2000s, and Dell acquired the company in 2011, folding the E series and S series switches into its own range. Modules and switches from that period still appear under both badges, which is why the Force10 code and the Dell part number both appear against this item.

XFP is the earlier 10 Gigabit pluggable form factor, so this fits XFP cages rather than the SFP+ ports on later hardware, and LR needs single-mode fibre rather than the multimode an SR module would use.
