The APC AP9617 is a genuine APC UPS Network Management Card, fitted into the SmartSlot bay of compatible APC Smart-UPS units to add direct 10/100Base-T Ethernet connectivity and remote management. Once installed, the card gives the UPS its own IP address on the network, removing the need to run a dedicated management PC or proxy server just to monitor and control the unit. Administrators can view load, battery status, event logs and alarms remotely, and manage the UPS over Telnet, FTP and a built-in web interface, as well as SNMP for integration with existing network monitoring systems. The AP9617 is designed for the SU and SUA families of APC Smart-UPS, such as the SU1400NET and SUA1500, and is not intended for the newer SMX/SMT-series units, which use the later AP9630/AP9631 cards instead.
