RiverStone Networks 300-217-02 REV 0E: Riverstone line card recorded as G8M-GBCMM-02. The marking is not documented, so ask us to read the board legend.
The RiverStone Networks 300-217-02 REV 0E is recorded with the marking G8M-GBCMM-02. Riverstone used short internal codes of this shape for its line cards and the G8M element reads as an eight port Gigabit module, but we have not found a published reference that confirms it and we are not going to publish a port count we cannot stand behind. The 300- number is Riverstone’s own assembly numbering and REV 0E is the board revision.
Riverstone Networks was spun out of Cabletron in 2001 and built metro Ethernet routers and switches, principally the RS series, which were sold to carriers and large enterprises before the company’s assets went to Lucent in 2006. Hardware from that period is entirely unsupported now and is maintained from held stock. Board level assembly numbers and revisions are the only reliable identifiers on cards of this vintage.
