The Extron P2DA2 PLUS, which Extron writes as P/2 DA2 PLUS (part number 60-046-03), is a one-input, two-output VGA distribution amplifier that splits a single computer video source to two displays.
It handles resolutions from VGA up to QXGA with 300 MHz (-3 dB) RGB video bandwidth. Each output is individually buffered, so both screens receive a full-strength signal. The unit passes the video card’s ID bits through the local monitor output, which lets the computer select the correct resolution automatically. DIP switches set the input and output sync impedance to match the connected equipment.
The compact, durable enclosure is small enough to carry in a briefcase, so presenters use it to feed a projector and a local monitor from one laptop. It also suits fixed installations in meeting rooms and lecture theatres. Power comes from an external 12V supply.
Extron has since retired the model. Tech-Star supplies the P/2 DA2 PLUS new and refurbished for AV teams maintaining analogue VGA systems.
