It provides an ISDN PRI (E1, 30-channel) digital trunk interface, connecting the exchange to the public network or to another PBX over a primary-rate digital line.

The board fits a line-trunk module slot in an MD110 or MX-ONE magazine and handles the signalling and 2 Mbit/s framing for the trunk. It is the base variant of the BTU-D family used across these systems.
