COLT-2 ASCOM ASCOM COLT Telecom Module

The ASCOM COLT-2 is an HDSL (High-bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line) desktop unit designed to provide symmetrical high-speed data transmission over standard copper telephone lines. This compact device enables reliable digital connectivity without the need for repeaters over moderate distances, making it suitable for business data applications.

HDSL technology was widely deployed for applications requiring dedicated symmetrical bandwidth, including leased line replacement, PBX interconnection, and frame relay access. The COLT-2 desktop form factor allowed for convenient placement at customer premises as part of point-to-point or network access configurations.

This is a legacy product from ASCOM’s telecommunications portfolio. HDSL technology has largely been superseded by newer DSL variants and fibre-based solutions, though units remain in service for specific applications and maintenance of existing infrastructure.
