The Huawei 0305488 is a UMPTB2, a Universal Main Processing and Transmission unit (UMPT) for Huawei’s BBU3900, BBU3910 and BBU5900 base band units. It is the main control board of the base station: it manages the other boards in the BBU, processes signalling, handles the transmission interfaces and provides clock synchronisation.

The UMPT board supports GSM, WCDMA and LTE and sits in the BBU alongside the baseband (UBBP/WBBP) boards, connecting the radio access network to the core network.
