The Nokia C111991.C2B is an ESA24 (Ethernet Switch for ATM, 24-port), an internal switching plug-in unit for the Nokia DX200 core-network platform. It provides 24 ports of Ethernet-over-ATM switching that carry internal control and user-plane traffic between the processing, transmission and interface cards in a DX200 subrack. The ESA family bridges the platform’s Ethernet and ATM domains within core-network elements such as the BSC and MGW, and the companion ESA40 provides the higher-density 40-port variant. It installs in the switching position of the equipment cartridge alongside the computer, power and exchange-terminal cards.
