The Nokia C111587 is an NP2GE-B, a network processor blade providing two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces for Nokia’s ATCA-based core network platforms. Used as a control and network-interface board in equipment such as the Media Gateway (MGW), it handles packet forwarding and network processing between the core node and the surrounding IP transport network.

The two Gigabit Ethernet ports give the shelf its external Ethernet connectivity, while the on-board processor manages the associated packet handling. Built to the AdvancedTCA form factor used across Nokia’s mobile core, the NP2GE-B supports the carrier-grade redundancy and hot-swap serviceability expected in core equipment. As a legacy core-network board it remains in service in many operator networks.
