The Huawei QWMMWRFU8100 is a WRFU (WCDMA Radio Frequency Unit) for the 2100 MHz band, rated at 80 W, used in Huawei BTS3900 macro base stations. As the indoor RF module of the NodeB, it modulates baseband signals from the BBU into WCDMA radio-frequency signals using direct frequency conversion, then filters and amplifies them for transmission to the antenna through a duplex filter; on the uplink it down-converts, amplifies and digitises the received signals before passing them to the BBU. The WRFU connects to the baseband unit over a CPRI optical port and provides RF TX/RX and antenna channel ports. It is a legacy UMTS RF module still deployed in operational 3G networks and required for spares and expansion.
