The NEC 891004 (IP1-E-8COIU-LS1) is an 8-port Central Office (CO) line interface unit designed for the NEC Aspire IP1 business telephone system. This card provides analogue trunk connections, enabling the PBX to interface with traditional PSTN lines for inbound and outbound voice communications.

The 8COIU module is installed within the Aspire IP1 chassis to expand the system’s trunk capacity. It is particularly useful for small to medium-sized business deployments that require multiple analogue line connections for external calling, fax services, or alarm systems that depend on POTS connectivity.
