Nortel NTCA42BA Maintenance Interface (MI) card for TN-64X / OPTera DX, 128MB, RS-232 and Ethernet access.

The Nortel NTCA42BA is a Maintenance Interface (MI) card, known in reconditioned form as a ‘Golden MI’ card, used on Nortel/Ciena TN-64X and OPTera DX optical transmission platforms.

The card provides 128MB of onboard storage plus RS-232 and Ethernet access, and communicates with the shelf processor to give full network management access to the transmission shelf. Used MI cards typically commit themselves to the rack they are installed in and delete unused software loads, so ‘Golden’ units are new or factory-reprogrammed to guarantee full functionality when redeployed.

The NTCA42BA is specific to Nortel/Ciena TN-64X and OPTera DX optical transmission systems. Tech-Star is UK-based and ships worldwide. Get in touch to confirm compatibility with your TN-64X/OPTera DX shelf.
