The Ericsson MM0012812 is a MINI-LINK Modem Unit (MMU), specifically the MMU 2X8 model, used on the indoor/traffic side of an Ericsson MINI-LINK point-to-point microwave link. As with other MMU models in the range, it modulates the digital traffic stream, in this 2X8 configuration, for transport over the radio link, and demodulates the return signal on receive.

The MMU connects to its paired outdoor Radio Unit (RAU) over a single coaxial radio cable that carries both the modulated traffic signal and DC power out to the outdoor unit, keeping the indoor-to-outdoor cabling to one run. The 2X8 capacity point is one of several MMU variants across the MINI-LINK E range, sized to match the traffic load carried on a given hop.
