The Ericsson NPU1 B is a Node Processor Unit used within Ericsson’s MINI-LINK Traffic Node (TN) point-to-point microwave transmission system. The NPU provides the main control system functions for the microwave node, holding a Removable Memory Module for license and configuration storage, and providing user I/O interfaces, unstructured E1 interfaces, a Site LAN Ethernet port and a USB port for local management.

Used in the AMM 20p B magazine configuration, the NPU1 B is fitted in a dedicated slot and acts as the central management hub for the node, alongside modem (MMU), line termination (LTU) and power units within the same subrack.
