The Huawei SS42EFTQ01 is a 4-port 10/100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet processing board with an integrated LAN switch, designed for the OptiX Metro 1000, Huawei’s legacy MSTP platform used for access and metro SDH transmission. It carries four RJ45 electrical Ethernet ports on its front panel, each compliant with IEEE 802.3 and supporting auto-negotiation, and maps Ethernet traffic onto the SDH backplane using 2xVC-4 of bandwidth, with support for 6xVC-3 or 63xVC-12 plus 3xVC-3 bound bandwidth configurations. It supports EPL, GFP, LAPS, HDLC, LPT and TEST frame encapsulation along with LCAS v2 and RMON, giving it inloop fault-location and traffic-counting capability. This is effectively an Ethernet-over-SDH tributary card rather than a standalone Ethernet switch, fitting into IU1, IU2 or IU3 slots on the Metro 1000 subrack.
