The Juniper DPCE-R-40GE-SFP-C is a 40-port Enhanced Dense Port Concentrator (DPC) with SFP for the Juniper MX240, MX480 and MX960. It needs SFP optics, sold separately, and requires Junos 8.4 or later. The -C suffix is the hardware revision. It provides the physical network interface and hands traffic to the router’s packet-forwarding engine.
