The Juniper SCB-MX960-S-J is a Switch Control Board (SCB) for the Juniper MX960 (also used on the MX480 and MX240). It provides control-plane, chassis-management and switch-fabric functions and carries the Routing Engine, which installs directly into a slot on the board. Each fabric plane on the SCB handles 20 Gbps. The -J suffix is the hardware revision. It sits in the control-plane path between the Routing Engine and the rest of the chassis.
