The Mitel 50004134 is a redundant hard drive expansion for a physical NuPoint Messenger server running NPM (NuPoint Messenger) software release 8.0. Physical NuPoint is a server-based voicemail and unified-messaging platform, running on a rack-mount PC server rather than the dedicated ISA-backplane chassis used by the earlier NuPoint Messenger Model 70 system. This expansion drive adds RAID-style redundancy to an existing NPM 8.0 server that was not originally ordered with it, so mailbox and configuration data can survive a single drive failure without service interruption.
