Unlike the Mitel-specific DNIC variant, this card uses in-channel signalling to let the same NuPoint Messenger 70 platform integrate with a Nortel Meridian or Norstar PBX instead of a Mitel switch, confirming NuPoint Messenger was sold as a multi-vendor voicemail system rather than an accessory limited to Mitel’s own switching range. It plugs into the Model 70’s 7-slot ISA backplane alongside the system’s other line-card sets, adding eight ports of digital integration capacity.
