Nortel DS1404015: Accelar Model 8608GB, 8-port 1000BASE-X GBIC module.

The Nortel DS1404015 is an Accelar Model 8608GB, an 8-port 1000BASE-X GBIC Gigabit Ethernet module from the original Accelar-branded generation of what later became Nortel’s Passport 8000-series routing switch chassis. It installs in the chassis alongside a CPU/switch-fabric module, providing eight GBIC-based Gigabit ports that accept interchangeable copper or fibre GBIC transceivers to match a site’s specific uplink or server-connectivity requirements. Confirm the exact chassis model and CPU/switch-fabric module compatibility before ordering, since early Accelar-branded interface modules can differ in firmware requirements from the later Passport-branded equivalents. Accelar/Passport 8000-series chassis remain deployed as core and distribution-layer switching platforms in a number of established networks. Tech-Star (UK-based, shipped worldwide) stocks Nortel spares to support ongoing network maintenance and expansion projects. Contact our sales team for current availability.
