The Nortel AL2033015 is a Business Policy Switch 2000 (BPS2000) 2-port 1000BASE-T Media Dependent Adapter (MDA), an add-on module that fits the BPS2000’s dedicated expansion bay to add two copper Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports to an otherwise 10/100-only switch. The BPS2000 accepts a range of interchangeable MDAs, letting a site choose copper, fibre or GBIC-based uplink options to match its uplink cabling without replacing the whole switch. This module is the copper 1000BASE-T variant, suited to Gigabit uplinks over standard structured copper cabling within normal Ethernet distance limits.
