The Nortel AL2033002 is a 400-2FX media dependent adapter. MDAs add uplink ports to BayStack stackable switches, and the 400-2FX provides two 100BASE-FX fibre ports on SC connectors for 62.5/125 micron multimode cable. Nortel’s data business grew out of its acquisitions of Bay Networks and Alteon, giving it the BayStack and Ethernet Routing Switch stackables, the Passport and ERS 8600 chassis switches, Alteon application switches and the Contivity VPN range.
