The Nortel DR4001087E6 is a WLAN Access Point 2332, a dual-radio 802.11a/b/g access point from Nortel’s controller-based WLAN 2300 series. Unlike the standalone 2330-A model, the 2332 must be paired with a Nortel WLAN Security Switch 2360 (DR4001A73E5), which handles authentication, encryption and centralised management for every access point on the switch, with the 2332 itself providing only the radio and antenna hardware at the edge. It mounts on a ceiling or wall and is typically Power-over-Ethernet fed from the security switch’s uplink infrastructure. Confirm a compatible WLAN Security Switch 2360 is already in place before ordering, since the 2332 will not operate as a standalone access point. This access point remains a working spare for sites running Nortel’s controller-based 2300-series wireless deployments.
