The 3Com 3C16671A is a SuperStack II Hub 10 24-Port TP, providing 24 RJ-45 10Mbps Ethernet ports plus one AUI port for an external transceiver connection. As a 10Mbps-only hub from the SuperStack II range, it predates the dual-speed and switched products that followed in the same family, and the AUI port gave it flexibility to connect to fibre or coax backbone segments via an external transceiver where the fixed RJ-45 ports could not. SuperStack II hubs of this generation remain in service in a number of established legacy SME networks, and a genuine spare such as this restores connectivity after a unit failure or extends an existing small network.
