The Nortel NT7B65KQ is a Digital Mobility Repeater 20, an RF repeater unit for Nortel’s Digital Mobility Solution, the in-building voice-only cellular/DECT-style system used with Norstar and BCM key systems. Rather than terminating calls directly, the Repeater 20 extends the radio coverage of a nearby Digital Mobility Basestation into areas the base station’s own cell cannot reach cleanly, such as stairwells, extended wings or basements, so cordless handset users keep a clean connection and clean handoffs as they move through the building. It shares its NT7B65K-prefixed part numbering with the Basestation 10/15 and Controller 320 units already catalogued, connecting into the same Digital Mobility Controller and Norstar/BCM platform. As with the rest of the range, this hardware was later carried forward under Avaya branding after Avaya’s 2009 acquisition of Nortel’s enterprise business. Tech-Star supplies this as a secondary-market spare for extending or repairing an existing Digital Mobility cell layout.
