The Nortel DR4001A68 is a WLAN Security Switch 2270, part of Nortel’s enterprise WLAN Security Switch (WSS) series that centralises radio management, authentication and traffic security for a site’s wireless access points. The WSS 2270 aggregates and controls thin access points across a campus or building, applying encryption, rogue-AP detection and QoS policy from a central point rather than leaving those functions distributed on individual APs, simplifying both wireless security management and coverage planning for larger sites. It shares its DR4001-prefixed part numbering with the rest of Nortel’s WLAN Security Switch range, including the WSS 2350 security switch and 2332-series access points already catalogued here.
