Nortel NT7B65KP (telecommunications transmission and networking portfolio) Telecom System Card / Module

The Nortel NT7B65KP is a Digital Mobility Basestation 10, the radio base station unit for Nortel’s Digital Mobility Solution, an in-building voice-only cellular/DECT-style system used with Norstar and BCM communication platforms. The Basestation 10 covers a circular radio cell of up to roughly 450 metres (1,476 ft) radius and hands calls off between adjacent base stations and repeaters as a user moves across a building or campus, giving cordless handset users continuous coverage without dropped calls. It connects back to a Digital Mobility Controller, which in turn integrates with the Norstar/BCM key system or PBX to provide standard telephony features to mobile handset users. Nortel’s Digital Mobility Solution was later carried forward under Avaya branding after the 2009 acquisition of Nortel’s enterprise business. Tech-Star supplies this as a secondary-market spare for engineers maintaining or expanding an existing Digital Mobility cell layout.
