The Nortel NTCA70FL is a 2.5 Gbit/s wavelength translator circuit pack from Nortel’s Optical Metro range. A wavelength translator terminates a client service and puts it onto the specific DWDM wavelength the shelf has assigned to that channel.

Nortel’s Optical Metro 5100 and 5200, originally sold as OPTera Metro, are DWDM transport systems for metro fibre networks. The 5100 has four traffic slots and the 5200 has sixteen, filled with circuit packs such as the optical channel interface, the optical channel laser and detector, transponders, and the shelf processor and optical service channel cards that manage them.
