The ALCATEL 3AL78865AB is an A3E3 tributary access card for the Alcatel-Lucent 1660SM synchronous digital hierarchy platform, providing three 34 Mbit/s (E3) PDH ports at 75 ohms. Each of its three channels brings a coaxial input and output connection through to the shelf, with a bicolour LED per channel indicating red for a local unit alarm and green when the channel is in service. The A3E3 card is installed in the 1660SM’s tributary slots, positions 2 to 9 and 13 to 20, and works together with the P3E3T3 switchable port card (3AL78864AA), which performs the actual E3/T3 signal switching, to bring legacy PDH tributaries into the SDH network.
