The Allied Telesis AT-FS202 is a genuine unmanaged Fast Ethernet media converter, converting a 100BASE-TX copper port to a 100BASE-FX multimode fibre port via an SC connector so that copper and fibre network segments can be bridged directly. As a standalone converter it requires no configuration, making it straightforward to deploy at the boundary between a copper LAN segment and a fibre backbone or long-distance run where copper cabling alone wouldn’t reach.
