The Avaya MM716 is Avaya’s 24-port Analog Media Module, a trunk and telephone card fitted into an Avaya media gateway to provide 24 analogue ports that can be configured as standard telephone/fax/modem lines or as DID trunks (wink-start or immediate-start). The 24 ports are brought out through a single 25-pair RJ21X Amphenol connector, wired via a breakout cable or punch-down block to the site’s analogue distribution frame, rather than through 24 individual RJ11 jacks. It is a like-for-like replacement or capacity-expansion module for existing Avaya media gateways of this generation, which remain widely deployed in enterprise telephony estates.
