The Check Point CPAP-ACC-4-10F is a quad-port 10 Gigabit fibre expansion module for Check Point security appliances, adding four SFP+ cages to the appliance on a single card. It is fitted to the expansion bays of the larger Check Point platforms, including the 12000 and 13000 series, where the fixed onboard copper ports are not enough or where the appliance needs to sit on a fibre segment rather than a copper one. Each port takes an SFP+ transceiver, which is supplied separately and should be chosen to match the reach and fibre type of the link. Appliance chassis routinely outlive their interface modules, and a firewall is rarely replaced simply because it has run short of the right kind of port, so a refurbished card is the normal way to keep one in service or to add capacity.
