KRC161262/2 Ericsson Ericsson RBS 6000 Radio Remote Unit

The Ericsson KRC161262/2 is an RRUS 12 (Remote Radio Unit System) configured for Band 8 (900 MHz) operation. This remote radio head is designed for distributed base station architectures, where the radio unit is mounted close to the antenna while connected via fibre to a centralised baseband unit. The RRUS 12 series delivers multi-carrier capability and supports LTE radio access in macro cell deployments.

This unit forms part of Ericsson’s Radio Base Station portfolio, typically deployed within RBS 6000 series infrastructure. Band 8 operation at 900 MHz provides excellent coverage characteristics, making it suitable for wide-area and rural deployments where propagation distance is prioritised.

The RRUS 12 platform has been widely deployed across European mobile networks. While newer radio unit generations have since been introduced, the RRUS 12 remains in active service and is sought after for network maintenance, capacity expansion, and like-for-like replacements.
