The HP 431954-002 is a 72GB SAS hard disk drive in HP’s 2.5-inch small form factor (SFF) design, spinning at 10,000 RPM with a single-port SAS interface running at up to 3Gb/s. It shares the same drive platform and option part reference, 375861-B21, as the closely related 438628-001, and is built for the same range of HP ProLiant Gen4 through Gen7 servers, including the DL180, DL320, DL360, DL370, DL380, DL385, DL580, ML110 and BL465c. Supplied in a hot-plug carrier, the drive can be added or replaced in a live server chassis without downtime, which is a standard requirement for enterprise storage in production environments. As a 10K SAS drive it sits between HP’s 15K performance-tier drives and slower 7.2K midline SATA/NL-SAS options, giving a practical balance of speed, reliability and cost for general-purpose server storage.
