The HP J4900B is the ProCurve Switch 2626, a stackable Layer 2 Ethernet switch built for small-to-medium enterprise wiring closets. It provides 24 auto-sensing 10/100Base-TX RJ-45 ports for desktop and access-layer connectivity, plus 2 dual-personality ports that can operate as either 10/100/1000Base-T copper or mini-GBIC fibre uplinks.

Internally the switch delivers 9.6 Gbps of switching capacity and 6.6 million packets per second of throughput, backed by an 8,000-entry MAC address table, 8 MB of flash and 32 MB of SDRAM. Management features include IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging, 802.1p QoS queuing, port security, MAC lockout, IP lockdown, SSH, SSL and TACACS+ authentication for controlled administrative access.
