The Huawei SSN1AUX01 is the System Auxiliary Interface Board fitted as standard to every Huawei OptiX OSN 3500 subrack. An empty OSN3500 SSNESUBRACK ships by default with two SSN1PIU power interface boards and one SSN1AUX board as part of its factory accessory configuration. The board provides alarm output and external signal control, four RS-232 auxiliary serial interfaces (labelled S1 to S4), and management-related connectivity that works alongside the subrack’s active and standby system control and communication (SCC) boards. It also supplies F&F, OAM, F1 and clock input/output interfaces for remote maintenance and inter-board communication, plus centralised backup power distribution across the subrack. This is a required accessory board rather than a service/traffic board, so it is typically replaced only on fault or when reconfiguring a subrack rather than for capacity upgrades.
