The Huawei SSN1SL410 is a 1xSTM-4 optical interface board used in the OptiX OSN family of SDH multiservice transmission platforms, including the OSN 1500, OSN 2500, OSN 3500 and OSN 7500. The board receives and transmits a single channel of STM-4 (622 Mbit/s) optical signal, carrying out photoelectric conversion between the optical line and the equipment backplane. It extracts and inserts SDH section and path overhead bytes, and reports line-level alarms and performance events back to the network management system. The board supports common SDH protection schemes including two-fibre and four-fibre multiplex section ring protection, linear multiplex section protection, and sub-network connection protection (SNCP), letting it be deployed in ring or point-to-point transport topologies. It is a like-for-like maintenance spare for operators running legacy OptiX OSN SDH transport rings and is commonly stocked to keep existing STM-4 aggregation capacity available without a platform upgrade.
