The Huawei TN11PIU02 is a Power Interface Unit board (material code 03020JTN) used in the Huawei OptiX OSN 6800 DWDM/OTN optical transport subrack. As with other PIU boards in the OSN family, it accepts the incoming DC power feed and provides filtering, lightning protection and distribution of power to the other boards fitted in the subrack. An OSN6800 subrack is fitted with two PIU boards as standard alongside one AUX (System Auxiliary Interface) board, giving the chassis a degree of power-path redundancy so that other service boards continue to operate if one PIU fails or loses its feed. The board is physically compact, with a typical net weight around 0.5kg, and is designed to be hot-swappable in line with the rest of the OSN6800 board set, allowing a faulty unit to be replaced without taking the whole subrack out of service. Because the OSN6800 platform has been widely deployed for metro and long-haul DWDM transport, tested secondary-market PIU boards such as this one are a common field spare.
