The Huawei TND1PIU is a Power Interface Board used in the Huawei OptiX PTN 950 packet transport platform, supplied in a 1×4 slot configuration. It supports power access, power protection, surge protection status monitoring, power detection, filtering and fault information reporting, and internally comprises a protection and detection unit, a power detection unit, a DC/DC conversion unit, an EMI filtering unit and a communication control unit. Functionally the PIU sits at the front of the power path for the PTN950 subrack, taking in the site DC feed and conditioning it before it is distributed to the platform’s service, control and interface boards, while also reporting power status and fault conditions back to the system for centralised alarm management. The OptiX PTN 950 was widely deployed by Huawei for packet transport network access-layer applications, and the TND1PIU is now an end-of-life part still commonly sourced from the secondary market for like-for-like field replacement.
