The Huawei WD2D00UELP00 is a UELP (Universal E1/T1 Lightning Protection) unit, a surge-protection board for Huawei BBU3900 and BBU3910 base band units. It provides lightning and surge protection for E1/T1 transmission lines, with a single UELP protecting up to four E1/T1 circuits between the BBU transmission board and external transmission equipment. An inside DB25 connector links to the eNodeB transmission board and an outside DB26 connector to the external line, shielding the base station electrical interfaces from voltage transients on exposed copper cabling. As an optional plug-in unit in the BBU subrack, the UELP is a routine spare on GSM, UMTS and LTE sites that carry E1/T1 backhaul. Supplied refurbished, the WD2D00UELP00 is a direct-fit replacement for maintaining installed Huawei distributed base stations.
