The Huawei WD22UFLP is a UFLP (Universal FE/GE Lightning Protection) unit, a surge-protection board for Huawei BBU3900 and BBU3910 base band units. It provides lightning and surge protection for FE/GE Ethernet transmission ports, with each UFLP supporting two-way FE/GE surge protection between the BBU transmission board and external network equipment. Inside and outside FE/GE RJ45 connections route the Ethernet signal through the protection circuit, shielding the base station transmission interfaces from voltage transients induced on exposed outdoor cabling. The UFLP is an optional plug-in unit within the BBU subrack and is widely deployed on GSM, UMTS and LTE sites that use FE/GE backhaul. Supplied refurbished, it is a direct-fit spare for maintaining or expanding installed Huawei distributed base stations that rely on Ethernet transport.
