The Huawei WP1D000DPU06 is a DPUg, a Data Processing Unit board for the Huawei BSC6900 base station controller and the RNC6900 and BSC6910 platforms. It is a service processing board that carries user-plane and control-plane traffic inside the controller subrack, providing the throughput that manages calls, packet sessions and mobility across the connected GSM and UMTS radio access network. It is a processing board, not an optical transport card. The DPUg installs in a PARC subrack alongside the switching (SCU), clock (GCU) and operation and maintenance (OMU) boards, and controller capacity scales with the number of DPU boards installed.
