The Huawei WP1D000GCU02 is a General Clock Unit (GCUb), part number 03054333, used in the Huawei BSC6900 and RNC6900 base station controllers. The board generates and distributes the system reference clock across the controller subrack, keeping the switching, transmission and processing boards synchronised. On a BSC6900 GSM that does not take its timing from GPS, a pair of GCUb boards is configured in the reserved clock slots to provide redundant clock signals for the platform. As the enhanced clock board in the PARC (Packet Abis and Radio Controller) architecture, it works alongside the general control, switching and processing units that make up the controller. This is legacy carrier-grade equipment, and refurbished units are a practical way to keep existing BSC6900 or RNC6900 installations running or to hold as spares.
