The IBM 00E0639 is an 8-slot POWER7 DDR3 memory riser card, feature code EM01, CCIN 2C1C, sharing that CCIN and feature with sibling part numbers 00E0638, 00E1199, 00E1879 and 00E2097. The riser card plugs into a Power 770/780-class CEC drawer to provide eight additional DDR3 DIMM sockets, expanding the system’s total memory capacity beyond what the base planar alone supports, and is a standard upgrade or repair part for these servers as memory-hungry workloads outgrow their original configuration.
