The IBM 00V5404 is an 8GB DDR3-1066MHz CUoD (Capacity Upgrade on Demand) memory DIMM, CCIN 31CB, IBM feature code EM40, for Power7-generation servers including the Power 750, 770, 780 and 795 families. CUoD modules of this generation ship with part of their capacity inactive until licensed and activated on demand, letting a customer scale memory capacity without a physical hardware swap, a standard feature across IBM’s Power7 CUoD memory range that also includes higher-density 16GB and 32GB feature codes for the same server families. This 8GB density sits at the entry end of that range, suited to base memory configuration or incremental upgrades on Power7 systems.
